Big Takeaway: OpenAI held its first developer conference, DevDay, on November 6th, 2023, in San Francisco. You can watch the incredible conference here, but if you don’t have the time…
Here’s everything you need to know:
OpenAI announced a new, more powerful AI model called GPT-4 Turbo. GPT-4 Turbo has a 128K context window (around 100,000 words max per prompt) knowledge through April 2023, and Turbo also adds JSON mode. (Demo video here)
OpenAI is launching “GPT Builder” a platform for building custom chatbots. It allows anyone to build their own GPT using natural languages! (Demo here)
Sam Altman announced they are releasing the ChatGPT Store, an app store for ChatGPT. Users can browse other people's chatbots or share their own.
OpenAI is launching a new Assistants API that makes it easier for developers to build their own assistive AI apps that have goals and can call models and tools. Along with APIs for vision, text-to-speech and DALL-E 3.
OpenAI unveiled Copyright Shield to defend developers against infringement claims. They are also cutting prices on the fees that companies and developers pay to run its software.
They disclosed that it has over 2 million developers building on its APIs "for a wide range of use cases," and 92% of the Fortune 500 companies.
